The Madagascar Palm is a slow growing palm tree. It is a very unique palm that does best in the shade. Its slow growth makes this palm perfect to grow in containers on a shaded patio or even indoors by a sunny window. This palm is unique because of its cactus like thorns all over the trunk. This palm tends to be deciduous in our winters unless you can give it some protection from the frost. It grows 4 to 6 feet high and wide and is hardy to 25 degrees F.
