A number of bonsai created by members of the Society will be on display from 9:30 until 12:30 on Saturday. Society teachers will be providing lecture demonstrations, one at 10 a.m. and another at 11 a.m., using plant materials selected from Harlow’s.
Registrations will be taken for the fall Bonsai Basics Beginners’ Course, to be held the following Saturday morning, 9:00-12:30, at a private residence. Those attending will have hands on guidance as they begin training a one-gallon size juniper. The class teachers will explain styling, pruning and wiring, horticultural care for our desert environment. A later class will offer potting into a suitable container, soil mixes, fertilizers, and more.
Society members will be on hand until 1:00 at the nursery to answer questions and assist visitors with the purchase of plants suitable for bonsai. For further information contact: tucsonbonsaisociety.org
