Pincushion Cactus
Mammillaria
Generally just inches high, they are small, globular, and thickly covered with spines.
- Consider placing them:
- near walkways,
- clustered under nearby native trees and shrubs
- potted in large, shallow bowls
- potted singly and placed on display tables or benches
- Most flower prolifically, first in spring or early summer, and then once or twice later in the year.
- Provide some shade during the summer and plant in well drained cactus mix.
