Are you an adventuresome gardener? Always looking for something different? Brazilian Fireworks ‘Maracas’ may be for you. It blooms indoors (or out) and is easy to care for. This shade loving plant grows 6 to 8 inches tall and 8 to 10 inches wide, blooming in a central cluster of deep pinkish-red and purple flower spikes. The leaves are deep green with silver veins. Dubbed Brazilian Firework also because when the plant’s color fades, it shoots out seeds. Grow this plant indoors or out but always where it is warm. Outside place in bright shade.  Inside place in bright indirect light. Provide good drainage and keep moist.
