Blue Salvia

Salvia farinacea

Each cobalt-blue flower emerges from green tall flower spikes above the lush green foliage. Striking color contrast for bright-flowering Crocosmia, Rudbeckia and other Salvias. Herbaceous perennial.

Light Needs: This shrub can take full sun in Arizona but we have found that it enjoys some shade in the hot afternoon.

Watering Needs: Water regularly – weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Average Landscape Size: It grows 3 to 4 feet high and up to 2 feet wide.

Key Features: Spikes of bright blue blooms.

Blooms: Flowers from early spring to late fall.
