Amber Norgaard is teaming up with friends Sabra Faulk, Seth Murzyn and Jay Trapp to deliver a soul-filling evening of music at Harlow Gardens. The quartet blends country, blues, folk, funk and rock into a style of their own. Their harmonies, musicianship, humor and stories will make for an inspirational evening.
Described as “poet, peace warrior, healer” (Tucson Lifestyle Magazine) and “Tucson’s folk-rock goddess” (Natural Awakenings Magazine), Norgaard is a nurse-turned-musician who uses music as a healing art to foster compassion, spirituality and promote positive social change. Since departing her nursing career in 2004, she has released five full-length albums, opened for Judy Collins, Kenny Loggins, and Michael McDonald, achieved accolades for her songwriting, and written songs for non-profit organizations and films. She is known for her passionate vocal/piano/guitar delivery, eloquent lyrics and graceful melodies that inspire hope.
Norgaard will be joined by Sabra Faulk, an award-winning bassist, vocalist and acoustic guitarist. Sabra has been staple in the southern Arizona music scene for over 20 years and is best known for her funk/rock/blues bass playing, and more recently for her songwriting. She has won multiple Tucson Area Music Awards (TAMMIES) and was the headliner for the 2012 Tucson Folk Festival.
Amber and Sabra will be accompanied by TAMMIES winner and Tucson Musician Museum inductee Jay Trapp on bass and the fabulous Seth Murzyn on viola.
